winter 2013: hey boy! comics released another sampler, #3 in their catalog. I was asked to submit an ad for killer times; so I drew 91 individual red framed sunglasses, scanned them into my computer, and laid them out into a grid format. I titled the ad “…REMEMBER TO TAKE THE SAFETY OFF.” -it’s a reference to BIC lighters. Over 20 pages inside, featuring work by: Asa Gillis, Joe Hollingsworth, David Belew, Kim Bianco, and Haleigh Buck. Short story by : Laura James. Cover by:Jimmy Giegerich. There’s an ad for Wallride Records too, by Mike Stearns. Sampler #3 is for sale for $3, but the website, www.heyboycomics.com, says that it’s SOLD OUT. If you’re interested in one though, maybe you could email a request. You can reach hey boy! comics through their CONTACT section on their website.

Coincidence? Synchronicity? Or loyal advocates for having “Killer Times?”
On Friday, Dan Deacon performed at MICA. It was a great set, and everyone should go check out his new album, America. Check the title track here: Dan Deacon-America
Unknowingly to us all, the three of us chose to sport our Oriole Bird Killah T-shirts prior to meeting up for the show. The shirts were designed and printed by Brad Reiter through his monicker, Killer Times.
If you find the attire of the three handsome gentlemen in this photo aesthetically pleasing, Brad has several of his T-shirts available for sale at www.killertimes.com, along with several of his musical, film, and art projects for your viewing pleasure.
